Modification's and Wacky-ness...
- Our main modification is that our second theme alongside betrayal is domestic abuse.
- Our idea is to have the woman being abused by her husband, then she betrays him by telling her friend.
- We have thought of having the woman running away the husband (taken from the original Flo music video, No Light, No Light).
- We have dediced to have a live section and this will invovle Hannah dressed in her "White Room" costume. We will split the audience into half. She will slowly walk after the end of the video, she will then sing (quite spook-ily) a few lines from the song, then the lights will go out. Then back on and she will be on the floor.

Ready To Run (new changes)
At first, we thought of having a woman cheating on her significant other and her significant other leaves her. We thought this was a good way of bringing the key word "Betrayal" into the video.
However, I was dicussing the project with somebody else and they mentioned why not using a wedding dress. I thought this was a good idea because origianlly the protagnist would be ramdonally wearing a nice white dress when she falls into the white room.So I thought it over and thought of an idea of a woman about to marry and then running away. This way the woman could be wearing a wedding dress and this would give Hannah more options for costume design. Also many people associated white dresses with weddings. This idea would also give me more options for set design (and we are considering filming outside St.Mary's church in Conwy). We think we could "fake" a wedding and have the woman walking towards confetti and the groom but then legging it.
This way we can take an element from a Dixie Chicks video (Yes again..) The video is called "Ready To Run" and involves the three girls running away from a joint wedding. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr102My19TU)

Betrayal (AR)
We have decided to create a music video for many reasons. One reason is that we wanted to go down "arty" route which was a bit limiting in the past unit (Meet Me In The Dark). Another reason is that we wanted to explore other routes of film, and we both very intersted in music video's. My two expressive art's are set design and camera work. However intailly I was going to costume but we put our "art" skills to the test and Hannah was better suited for the job. But thinking about now, set design is better for me because I have to think where to place the camera and where I can get the best shot from.
The key element of this unit is the word betrayal, we intially thought of a man and a woman breaking up due to cheating or the betrayal of trust. We then began searching for songs. One song we came up with was a song by Queen called "Death on Two Legs". Howvever it didn't suit our plan (which was a couple splitting up). The Queen song was more of a insult marathon (but it's a fantastic song). A song which I thought of was "Not Ready To Make Nice" by the Dixie Chicks. We then watched the music video for the song and we thought of amny ideas.
The Dixie Chicks video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pojL_35QlSI&ob=av2e ) is a big inspiration because it has impressive sets and costumes. The main theme in this video is black and white (the point that the Dixie Chicks did is because the song is about the lead singer saying a comment about the US president and most of Southeren States began to really hate the band due to her one comment about him. The Dixie Chicks began to lose huge popurality in they're home states and the song is about the band's view to human rights and how they surived the rough times. Moving towards the point is that in the video, Natalie (the lead singer) begans to have black paint on her white dress ,to show how her single comment caused chaos, the video continues and she begans to have differant costumes but always seems to have black paint over her. At the end of the video the three girls have no paint to show how they will stay together as a band). We both struck on the idea of having somebody in a white room and a really nice outfit and slowly she goes crazy because of the betrayal. We both wanted to do something with insantity because it is an interesting thing to do in film and many of our favourite films are based on mental or mind related things, such as Pyscho (by Alfred Hitchcock) and Black Swan (by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman)
We began to work on an idea of a woman who has just broke up with somebody (due to betrayal) and as her significant other breaks up with her, she falls into a dreamy white room. Then throughout the video she goes a bit crazy. We also wanted to something with paint (from the Dixie Chicks video). So we decided to think out of the box and we thought of having water baloon's but with black paint. Then if we did a big finale, we would have "paint" baloons being exploding around the protagnist. So of course we would have to think of the set. So I have recently just created a plan on a computor game and I have taken screenshots of it (which can be found on the other blog).
After elimanting some songs such as "Giant" by Melissa Etheridge. We decided on the song "No Light, No Light" by Florence and the Machine. I found it after hearing her new album, and thought the lyrics would suit the theme perfectly. Here are the lyrics and the link for the song :

Another inspiration we had was "Jar of Hearts" by Chritini Perri.I do not like the song. However the music video is very impressive because it has impressive costumes and dance mixed in there. In our dream world Hannah and I would love to do something with dance but we aren't very good dancers and it would end in diastor.
After listenting to the Florence song, we have changed it to a woman cheating on her boyfriend and then they split up. We did that because it suits the lyrics and I don't like music video's which contridicts the lyrics of the song. I think that is unprofessional of the company who produce the music video.
If you look at the next few blogs it features my screenshots of my set design and in the next couple of days we are going to do storyboards of our ideas and think of how to realistic do the video.
* we also think it would be a good idea for the woman (whilst she is the white room) to write out the word BETRAYAL on the white wall because it amplfies our intetion and theme.
